What Does a Food Coach Do?

Just like chocolate's famous run-in with peanut butter, think of a food coach as a merger between a health coach and a chef.

Imagine a world…

in which there were people in every community who took care of each other by stepping into their kitchen to show them how to cook, and accompanying them to the grocery store to teach them how to buy healthy food within a budget that matched their cultural preferences.

Everyone needs to know how to cook!

How else are we going to reach everyone, and I mean everyone. Not just the insured or privileged; not by cooking foods that follow one flavor profile for all; and not just those with easy access to grocery stores, jobs and security.

A Food Coach will reach the person who needs it the most!

Food coaches follow a scientifically based delivery system designed to work within a stressful system - the busy family or the hard working individual.

Clients are asked to focus on making one step at a time towards healthy eating by selecting which food topic they want to work on first.

The over 150 dietary guidelines are broken into 10 discrete topics to insure success along the way because science shows that you don't have to ‘fix’ everything to see results, that small dietary changes do have a positive effect and they add up to be able to reach one’s goal.

Working as a Food Coach is rewarding

The client is always the leader and the food coach…well …they are the coach cheering them on, steering and supporting them along their way.

Become a Food Coach!

There is a need for more food coaches, now and in the near future!

I’ve worked for 4+ years to create the Food Coach Academy and, in partnership with Rouxbe, the first of 13 courses is now available. Get ‘Taste & Flavor’!

The full rollout will happen in January 2024.
